Sally Mwayi Changaya is a highly skilled Biomedical Engineer with a degree from the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS). She brings a unique blend of expertise spanning robotics, product development, drone technology, and agricultural engineering, with a strong commitment to applying innovation to real-world challenges.
Sally’s career is marked by a series of notable achievements and international engagements. In 2019, she was selected to represent Malawi at the First Global Robotics Challenge in Dubai, UAE—an opportunity that showcased her technical talent and collaborative spirit on a global platform. The same year, she also attended a UNDP workshop on waste management, gaining valuable insights into sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Her passion for drone technology took shape in 2020, when she joined Nkhwazi Aeros. There, she received extensive training in drone piloting, flight planning, pre- and post-flight inspections, inflight communication, and drone maintenance. This experience solidified her ability to merge technical knowledge with practical application in aerial systems. In 2021, she further expanded her expertise by participating in a Black Women in Engineering workshop on Sustainable Agriculture, deepening her commitment to using technology for food security and environmental resilience.
